Me-time for mommies: what and why?

Being mommy is the greatest blessing of one’s life. Since the news of baby-on-arrival pops up, every body in the family is elated with joy. Mom-to-be is taken care of like never before and the nursery n all other baby’s stuff is prepared to welcome the lil bundle of joy.

But once the baby arrives, the need to make up with the baby ‘s requirements become the priority. The sleep, the health of new mom is all changed..and yes.. it should also be changed because the baby is responsibility of her parents. The new parents should do their best to take care of the baby, even if they have to make changes into their routines at least till baby gets adjusted to this new world and sleep pattern. Most of the moms opt to stay back home till their baby becomes toddler or start going playschool.

All these changes bring lots of stress and anxiety into a mom’s life. To save your sanity and have a sense of purpose to yourself other than being a mom, you should explore your areas of interest and newer things and develop a hobby.

  1. Photography: If you have photographic skills, then this is the best time to show them off. You also don’t need to go out to look for model. Your Lil munchkin can be your model and you would love capturing her moments and relish them life time.
  2. Exercising clubs is another valuable option to go for which will not only help you to get back into pre-pregnancy jeans but also keep you fueled up for your daily chores, and future too. Walking in the nearby park or garden will help freshen up your baby and you , and help you get the latest happenings in the neighbourhood.
  3. Joining a book club is a better way to utilise your time and learn newer stuff of your choice. Great books are great investments. Investing time in good books will help you in getting along life better.
  4. If you have good skills in penning down the things, you can try blogging. The accessibility is so good that you don’t even need to get up from your bed and can scribble the relevant content and post it.
  5. Crafting and sewing is one of the best options to make use of the time to relieve your stress and of course, doing something new and productive.

All these and many other hobbies can help the stay at home moms to get their me-time and do something for themselves and their own happiness.

Hey mommies, what hobbies do you pursue in your busy schedule? Do share it here; you could be a source of inspiration to fellow readers.
